On the Way to Novitas. Part2
Hey, guys!
This is Nadia, a business analyst at Novitas.
Today I’d like to tell you about my way to Novitas that took about 8 months! Feel free to check the beginning of the story in my previous blog post.
#Spes Nostra~Nadia’s growth path~meaning ‟Spes Nostra” means “our hope” in Latin. And also my name “Nadia” means “hope, expectation” in Russian. I came to Novitas with certain expectations, hopes and I’ll also do all my best to meet the company’s expectations and grow personally. So I started this blog series to share my growth path with you. |
I was about to move to Japan so quit the company I worked for in Belarus but the Covid-19 pandemic changed my plans dramatically. Japan stopped issuing any visas so I had to stay in Belarus with no job.
I was quite optimistic about the pandemic at the beginning and thought it would be over in a few months so decided to take this time for Japanese studies. How naive I was 😂
A few months were over, I was studying Japanese and having fun with my normally working friends but at the same time became more anxious about my future. The pandemic did not seem to end in the near future so I felt stressed being jobless and decided to talk to Hadano Masaharu, the CEO of Novitas.
The CEO listened carefully about my situation and kindly offered to start working for Novitas remotely. There was a 6-hour time difference between Belarus and Japan and it was the first remote work experience for both me and Novitas but we decided to take this challenge!
(remote work with the CEO)
In addition to that, my previous company I worked for in Belarus got to know that I finally could not go to Japan and kindly offered me to do my previous customer support work part-time until the situation changes.
As a result I was working remotely for Novitas and after that as a customer support representative for my former company daily for about 5 months. It was quite hard but I was happy having a job. (^^;)
My first remote work duty at Novitas was “Company Analysis”. On a weekly basis we were analyzing different companies, their income, profit and other financial info, competitors and market situation. Everyone presented their conclusion, we held discussions and shared opinions. At the beginning there were only 2 of us, me and our CEO, but now we have 5 members in this so-called “Analysis Club”.
It’s very interesting to analyze different companies and share opinions with the members of different age and education backgrounds. People with different education, job, age analyze the same company but look from different perspectives and make different conclusions. This is the most amazing part for me which allows not just to improve my analytical skills but also the way of thinking so I’d like to go on analyzing companies even if I become busier!
So I was analyzing companies working remotely from Belarus for about 6 months until one day…
Feel free to check out what’s happened in my next article!
See you! 🙂
